Like most music it's brewed with several ingredients. Around the turn of the century, Europeans were pouring into Argentina seeking jobs as migrant farm and ranch workers, bringing the instruments and musical styles of their homelands with them. Over the years, this music spread through Latin America and picked up different influences in different places. Lara manages to represent seven of the resulting styles on this album, performing the music with clarity and breathtaking beauty. All songs are performed solo, and each combines the technical precision of classical guitar with the passion and emotional flavor of the region.
